Under chapter 2, section 1 of TSFS 2021:119, the professional competence test for taxi drivers 'shall be carried out in Swedish'. There are no officially translated versions of the test and no interpreter in the test room – neither for part 1 nor for part 2.
The support you can actually get
If you have special reasons you can apply to Trafikverket for extended test time, from 50 to 75 minutes per part – the application must be granted before you book the test, so build the extra time into your planning. Always check directly with Trafikverket which concrete support measures apply in your particular situation, since this can change.
A smart study strategy if Swedish is not your first language
Practise the questions themselves in Swedish, because that is the actual language and vocabulary of the test that you need to recognise under time pressure. Then read the explanations in your own language so you genuinely understand why an answer is correct. Learn the key terms that keep coming back in the legislation part by heart – jämförpris (comparison price), taxameter (taximeter) and lämplighetsprövning (suitability assessment) are typical examples that appear across several different questions.
